POTW: Fall in the Mountains

Fall in the mountains of Colorado is simply breathtaking. Year after year, the aspens begin their autumnal metamorphosis, putting on a vivid display of colors from reds, oranges and golden yellows and a trip through Rocky Mountain National Park never disappoints. A small grove of aspens pop vibrantly in spectacular fashion against the backdrop of the Never Summer Range, located on the western edge of Rocky … Continue reading POTW: Fall in the Mountains

They frequently congregate, in mass, near the inflow from the Colorado River on Shadow Mountain Lake, returning each spring to the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park.

This trail encompasses both the Arapaho National Recreation Area and Rocky Mountain National Park, on the eastern … Continue reading POTW: East Shore Trail RMNP

POTW: Spring in RMNP

Spring in RMNP, as that saying goes, hope springs eternal as a cow moose and her yearling offspring forage in the Kawuneeche Valley. Last fall the East Troublesome fire impacted over 193,000 acres of land in Grand County, including cutting through the heart of the Rocky Mountain National Park, jumping the continental divide and stopping … Continue reading POTW: Spring in RMNP

I am pleased to introduce the premier of Stella's song, "Wildfires Lead To Wildflowers," accompanied by photos of our journeys across Rocky Mountain National Park, Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and various national forests.
