Earth Day 2024 ~ as the sunsets on another trip around the world Earth Day is not just about reflection—it’s about action. It’s a call to protect our planet and ensure its health and diversity for future generations. It’s a day to celebrate Earth’s beauty and bounty and to pledge collective and individual actions to preserve and enhance our environmental heritage.

As mentioned in our post last weekend about snowshoeing with my (Stella) new legs, we have many trips planned for Spring and Summer 2024! Typically, winter is when we do significant traveling, but since we were unable to, we are going all out for the upcoming warm months of this year. The sharp, rugged peaks of the Rockies stand more prominently against the winter sky, and the forests and meadows don a silent coat of white. The Colorado River Trail, nestled within the sprawling expanse of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado, is a scenic and historic snowscape in the winter. This trail offers a unique opportunity to experience the wilderness, wildlife, and compelling history of the Colorado River's headwaters, Stella and I set out on our snowshoes heading north toward Lulu City. Though our adventure ended near Shipler Cabins, with the remnants buried in the snow we meandered about the meadow before retracing our steps back to the trailhead.
